WHO WE ARE
WHEN YOU WORK WITH ADX’S FABRICATION TEAM, YOU SUPPORT AN ENTIRE NETWORK OF LOCAL MAKERS. ALL PROFITS GENERATED FROM ADX FABRICATION ARE RECYCLED BACK TO THE ADX MAKERSPACE.
Established in 2011 alongside the ADX Makerspace our Fabrication Team brings high-quality and hand-crafted custom fabrication to each and every job.
The fabricators, designers, and project managers at ADX are not just a fabrication team . When you hire ADX for your fabrication needs you hire a team of passionate makers and you support a growing community of artists, designers, and builders that call Portland home. The jobs we receive through our Fabrication Department directly fund the ADX Makerspace (think a gym for making) and allow us to provide high-quality tools and training to the ADX Membership base.
We are happy to count all of our clients as valued members in our community of thinkers & makers. As such, clients can receive special offers on our membership, education, and event services. To get an estimate on your next big idea, email our team at email@example.com.
OUR FABRICATION TEAM
A firm believer that Form Follows Function, Thomas has spent much of his history in pursuit of activities involving the hand-craft and the human scale. After receiving his architecture undergrad from Syracuse University, Thomas traveled to the Pacific Northwest to escape the “live-to-work” mentality of the northeast in search of a new lifestyle, new friends, and professional experiences. Almost immediately he wandered into ADX and found his niche within the community. Although a far commute from home, the mixed environment of makers, artists, designers and craftsman easily justified the countless hours spent working, making, and influencing others. Outside of professional pursuits he enjoys climbing at the local rock gyms, long distance running, board games, food cart lunches, brick-and-mortar happy hours and all of the craft beer that Portland can offer.

OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM
Kelley is the Founder and Owner of ADX and Portland Made, and has been working for the past 5 years to grow Portland’s Maker Movement. She consults with the people from around the world to create Makerspaces, like ADX, in their communities. Kelley has become a globally recognized leader in the Maker Movement and is helping to put Portland Makers on the international map. She co-authored Cartopia: Portland’s Food Cart Revolution in 2010, has a graduate degree in Urban Planning and an undergraduate degree in Geological Sciences. Kelley’s passion is helping creatives hone their skills, start their own businesses, and make a living doing what they love.
Craftsman, Scientist, Artist, and Philosopher, Chris is a true renaissance man born in a time of rampant single-mindedness. Like the great Pacific Ocean from which he hails, his skills are vast and his expertise abyssal. A creator from birth with a brain like a sponge, he spent his youth travelling far and wide, like the windblown seed of the great maple, picking up skills and touching lives in search of fertile soil. In the spring of 2013 he found that soil at ADX. From a seed he sprouted into a tree, nurtured by a community of thinkers and makers that has no equal. He now stands tall(ish), stoic, and enduring, committed to strengthening the institution which has nurtured his growth, so that he may continue to grow and help the drifting seeds of the world take root in the rich earth of making.
Born in a small country town in Florida and constantly on the search for new adventure, good music and amazing people, Matt has found his way into the sawdust-covered arms of ADX. He believes in a style of marketing and sales that focus on smiling, laughing and being honest. Work aside, he enjoys playing his guitar to the audience of walls in his room, telling stories to those who will listen, and learning to turn wood in the shop.
When Sarah first found out about ADX, she thought it sounded a lot like a children’s museums where she had once worked … but for grown-ups.
When she entered the shop, Sarah immediately felt at home. After a 7-year stint in social services at a Crisis Center in Seattle, WA, Sarah has relocated to Portland to once again advocate for creativity, innovation and life-long learning. Born in England, sometimes mistaken for Canadian, but 100% ‘Merican, Sarah loves calling the NW home.
Kat is a self-proclaimed cat lady from southern California who returned to Oregon after college to turn over a new Pacific Northwest leaf. With a lifetime of making and doodling guiding her, Kat found her home away from home at ADX in the winter of 2014 and has been here ever since. Kat has a fine arts background, specializing in print making, photography, and metalsmithing. She enjoys swings and tall grass, celebrates May the 4th every year, and her ideal superpower is the ability to breathe underwater.
Jenefer was raised in a small town in the Sierra Nevada Mountain near Central California. After finishing a Bachelors in Philosophy at OSU, she quickly realized that working with her hands and being creative was a path she wanted to pursue. Finding ADX as a shop steward, she worked hard and learned fast, which helped her quickly rise up the ladder. Now our Facility Manager and part time fabricator, she helps others follow the same path everyday.
